Advanced Ceramics
The major emphasis of this course is to provide experienced students with the support and rigor to deepen creative problem-solving skills and to develop a student's personal style. This workshop-type course will introduce new techniques in ceramic hand-building and wheel-throwing. Students will also be challenged to grow towards personalized goals, and to refine their skills in order to achieve exceptional control. Minimal quizzes evaluate vocabulary, but student comprehension is primarily evaluated through performance (projects and work habits). May be repeated for credit. Students may attend optional after school workshops as they deem necessary, but if class time is used wisely a student can expect to have 0 minutes of homework a week.
