Beginning Ceramics
The major emphasis of this course is to provide students with creative problem-solving skills. This workshop type course will introduce students to building with clay, and how to successfully manage its unique properties in order to make hand-sculpted artworks. Students will also be given the opportunity to practice wheel throwing clay to create circular forms. Minimal quizzes evaluate vocabulary, but student comprehension is primarily evaluated through performance (projects and work habits). Students may attend optional after school workshops as they deem necessary, but if class time is used wisely a student can expect to have 0 minutes of homework a week. Prerequisite-None.
